When the valve is in the "Hold-up" or "Hold-clown" position, the pump is delivering air to a reservoir for use when "single" blows are required.

To reduce the load on the pump when sufficient air has been stored, a controller is fitted to the side of the pump cylinder. This consists of a piston valve which when opened throws the pump into communica­tion with the atmosphere during the first part of each stroke. The effective stroke of the piston is thus reduced, only sufficient air being compressed to make up for leakage from the reservoir.

The valve is moved by a small piston sliding in a cylinder formed in the bottom cover of the controller, and connected by piping to the reservoir.

The weight of the valve determines the pressure at which it lifts, and it will be seen that there is thus nothing to get out of adjustment. The only attention required is an occasional test to see that the valve rises and falls freely. For this purpose an indicating rod attacked to the valve projects through the top cover, and by means of it the freedom of the valve may be gauged by hand.

Allt som är viktigt och intressant har en egen dag i kalendern. Vi har ju mor, far, FN, Nationaldagen, Alla Hjärtans Dag och numer även Alla Smeders Dag. År 2007 utropade medlemmarna på Antracit.se Smides Portal Fjärde lördagen i Maj till Alla Smeders Dag.

 En ros betyder så mycket? Ja det va så det började, inlägget på Internetportalen Antracit.se. Inför alla Hjärtans Dag provade flera medlemmar på att smida sig en ros. Vad kan vara mer sprunget ur hjärtat än en gåva i form av en handsmidd ros i järn?

All good and important days to be remembered got its day in the calendar. Six years ago, close to Valentine's Day, members of Antracit Blacksmith Portal hand forged roses to their wife's and girlfriends. That made start point in discussing the very important part in the Industrial history which involves the work of all blacksmiths.

 Actually the blacksmiths was the core leader of the Industrial revolution in all aspects as innovators and craftsmen and the persons who made all of this possible. Now a day all this is history and the work of blacksmithing has almost been forgotten. Still there are a lot of craftsmen regaining new popularity as Blacksmith's and members of Antracit dropped the idea to start celebrating the craftsmanship of blacksmithing with a special day called Blacksmith Day.
